A drape hung between me and the surgeon. The lights overhead were bright, but I just stared at the painting on the ceiling and did my best to stay calm. My fiance’s hands were on the sides of my face to let me know he was there, we were waiting for the big moment.
And there it was, a high pitched shaky cry. A baby cry! My baby was out in the world, breathing in air, and crying for the first time. I could hear him, but I couldn’t see a thing past the drape. Tears of joy filled my eyes, an overwhelming love filled my heart, and I couldn’t wait to look into Bryce’s little eyes for the first time. Finally they laid him down on my chest and he peered up at me, and I back at him. He was perfection.
That kind of moment only comes once in your life, even if you have multiple children. I didn’t actually get to see my son take his first breath, but thanks to Haley’s Photography- I have a photo of it to always remember that moment. I have photos of everything I described above. I can look back on them and relive what was probably THE most dramatic turning point in my life. I can’t even describe how valuable that is to me and will be forever grateful that she was there to coach me through labor, and document Bryce’s birth even when it ended in a c-section.
Haley has a talent when it comes to documenting life. She consistently captures her every day moments with her children in a way that I am baffled by- as tripods are the bane of my existence. She is totally devoted to cataloging the memories and moments of the every-day, and the love she has for her family.
Where I come in:
Haley wanted some photos that showed her in her element both at home, and outside in the Rocky mountains of Colorado where her family has settled. At home we made sure to show the duality of being a work-from home mom, a photographer, and the fun-loving nature of her little family.
